Pain
I wasn't planning to write this poem but I was inspired by a prompt from @3AM Writer's Club to write a poem using only questions. I hope you enjoy it.

Why do you not see the pain on their faces? How can you walk away so easily? Why do you not look back for even a second more? Are you trying to numb your heart forevermore? Is your heart filled with grief? Are your eyes echoing the sorrows you will not allow yourself to speak? Will you hold onto your faith? Hold onto your belief? How many more of you must bleed before the world sees? How many more of you must fall before you can be at peace? Why do you not see the pain on their faces? How can you walk away so easily? Why do you not look back for even a second more? Are you trying to numb your heart forevermore? Are you trying to hold onto hope? Will you try and find joy in the shadows of the night? How do you calm the children at night? Is your heart restless and your body tense? Or is your body tense and your heart at rest? What thoughts plague your mind? Is it hope for the future even in the depths of the darkest night? Why do we not see the pain on their faces? How can we walk away so easily? Why do we not look back for even a second more? Are we trying to numb our hearts forevermore?
