Sister

My little dove, You fly across the world, Spreading your wings, As you explore the skies, Going and higher, As you explore, Not wanting to come down, Always wanting more. My little songbird, Your song brings music to my ears, Every laugh and every cry, Is a memory that will last for years. Your smile is one that lights up the world. It looks like a beacon of light in the misty fog. Filling me with delight when I am stuck in the bog Of homework. Of growing up. You, my love, are like an escape, From the day-to-day duties that I must face. With you, I relive my childhood days, But those days have long gone away. Nine years it has been since you came into our lives, Like a little star twinkling in the night, Filling our lives with such delight, Your fire will spark far and wide. Little bird, As I watch you sleep, I feel a love that is deep. I want to hold you close, Keep you next to me, Hold your hand, While you dream. My little bird, You are one of a kind, Your wings will spread far and wide, I know cannot always keep you home, Yet I want to hold you close and never let go. Little bird, You should know, How much I love you so, I will travel far and wide, Just to see the joy in your eyes, Just to see the smile on your face, Just to feel your warm embrace. My little one, You should know, How much we love you so, We will travel far and wide, Just to see the joy in your eyes.
